Cet \u00e9v\u00e8nement a servi de signal d\u2019alarme pour les nations africaines afin qu\u2019elles renforcent leur volont\u00e9 politique d\u2019atteindre les objectifs continentaux en mati\u00e8re de nutrition, ainsi que leur volont\u00e9 d\u2019investir pour relever les d\u00e9fis imminents qui contribuent \u00e0 la malnutrition et \u00e0 l\u2019ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire. A ce sujet, M. Matekane, repr\u00e9sentant du Royaume du Lesotho a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 au nom du roi Letsie III:&nbsp;\u00ab&nbsp;<em>Il est inacceptable que nous restions silencieux et indiff\u00e9rents alors que 60 % de la population de notre continent (799 millions de personnes) est touch\u00e9e par une ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire mod\u00e9r\u00e9e ou s\u00e9v\u00e8re \u2014 ce qui place [l\u2019Afrique] au niveau le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale.
